I've since updated this setup with the following changes:

The DSL router now has an IP address of 192.168.10.1, and all static IP clients have a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. This allows hosts on the 10.x space to reach hosts on 1.x.

The cable router also applies a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 to all DHCP clients to allow hosts on 1.x to reach 10.x addresses.

One downside of this change is that I can't reach the cable modem's configuration page at 192.168.100.1. A possible fix would be to change the subnet masking to 255.255.240.0 - see the Wikipedia article on subnetworks for more details. As I'm only maintaining this network for another three months, there's not much point disrupting service to make the change.

Hey I follow all your instruction and it works great. I found out that your setup have the same down fall as my. Check out the comment made by Sniper Fox . I also found out that if you disable your DSL router goes down then your Cable goes down as well. I think it got something to do with their DNS.
